Most online tools work by sending your file to a server, processing it there, and sending the result back. That round trip is where privacy risk, slow uploads, and ongoing server costs all come from. VeloTools removes that step entirely.
Every tool is built on standard browser APIs that have existed for years but are rarely used to their full potential: the Canvas API for image decoding, re-compression, resizing, and pixel-level effects; the File API for reading bytes directly from disk; WebAssembly for running AI models (background removal) and PDF processing at near-native speed; and pure JavaScript for parsing file formats — including a hand-written TIFF/IFD walker that extracts the embedded JPEG preview from camera RAW files.
The practical result: open a tool, drop a file, and the entire operation — decode, process, re-encode — happens in your device's memory in milliseconds. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and every tool keeps working.
